Hluboká Castle

Hluboká Castle is one of the most visited and most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic. It is perched on a rocky promontory above the Vltava River and immediately captivates with its romantic white silhouette and English Neo-Gothic style, inspired by the famous Windsor Castle in the United Kingdom. Originally built as a Gothic fortress in the 13th century, it underwent numerous renovations over the centuries, with the most significant transformation taking place in the 19th century under the Schwarzenberg family. Visitors can admire richly decorated interiors featuring original furnishings, art collections, hunting trophies, and intricately carved woodwork. The castle is surrounded by a vast English-style park with rare trees, sculptures, and colorful flowerbeds. In addition to traditional guided tours, the site offers special tours, exhibitions, and cultural events. Thanks to its stunning architecture and location, Hluboká Castle is a popular destination not only for tourists but also for filmmakers and photographers.
